Gilbertsville, PA – A.D. Moyer Lumber, Inc. – voted #1 Window Dealer in the Tri-county area for nine consecutive years and #1 Home-Improvement Store in the Tri-county area for the past two years – held its 18th annual golf outing at the Twin Ponds golf course in Gilbertsville on Sunday October 2nd.
A mix of 130 golfers, hackers and enthusiasts hit the greens for the 9 a.m. shotgun start despite the inclement fall weather.
A total of 27 sponsors – comprised primarily of vendors to A.D. Moyer – sponsored holes and donated prizes to the event. Several of those sponsors sent representatives to participate in the outing. All participants received door prizes and feasted on a full steak and potato dinner from Moyer’s Meats Catering service complete with soup and vegetables.
The first place team winner in the scramble event was the Rusbuldt’s team followed by the Family Builders team in second place. Both groups shot a 13-under-par 57 on the day. Third place went to BTN Construction and fourth place to Acorn builders, with both teams putting up an eight-under-par 62 score.
In the individual skills area, the longest drive prize was awarded to Lori Henne. Closest to the pin winners were Eric Reigner, Scott Loomis, Mark Conway, Dave Ott, Brian Johnson and Scott Davidheiser.
A.D. Moyer employee Ross Geiger was among the original pioneers of the outing and has organized and overseen the event each year since its inception.
“We are very pleased with another sell-out year for our annual outing,” Geiger commented. “Twin Ponds is an excellent course and was, once again, in great shape despite the record rainfall we experienced in August and September. The staff and management of Twin Ponds are excellent and couldn’t have treated us better.
