History
The Announcement - January 2023: We are excited to announce the construction of a NEW RETAIL STORE at our Kutztown yard located at 80 Willow Street, just blocks from Kutztown University! This beautiful building - expected to open in 2024 - will have an 80' x 140' footprint featuring 8200 square feet of ground-floor retail space packed with high-quality hardware and fasteners, electrical supplies, plumbing supplies, lawn and garden, home accessories, power tools, hand tools, and more. In addition to having everything needed for your home improvement, maintenance and construction needs; ample product displays of special-order items will allow you to ‘eye before you buy’.
Highlighted in this retail space is an expansive paint-supply center offering all of the custom color needs and sundry supplies to make your projects sparkle! In addition, a kitchen and bathroom department will be featured with a knowledgeable and experienced expert designer on hand to walk you through your projects from inception to completion. An additional 6172 square feet of office and storage space will include a second-floor area overlooking the store to accommodate management, estimating, design, purchasing, and outside sales teams.
The exterior front of the store will feature extensive decking and railing displays that you can walk and sit on, as well as various seasonal displays and supplies. Also included will be special parking accommodations for our veterans and our friends who travel with horse and buggy.

01/31/24 - Soft Opening Mon Feb 12. Grand Opening Sat Apr 20 9a - 3p.
01/23/24 - We are nearing completion of nearly everything. Shelves are about 90% stocked and finishing touches being completed everywhere. Soft opening scheduled for Mon Feb 12. Grand Opening celebration scheduled for Sat April 20th 9a - 3p. See our Facebook Event for complete details.
01/12/24 - After a year into this major project, the end is in sight! The shelves are approximately half stocked, signage going up, and final finish details being completed in the office spaces. Looking forward to seeing your friendly faces pass through the doors soon! Shooting for a February soft opening with a Grand Opening date to be set in the Spring!
12/11/23 - Fencing is complete, drywall is painted, HVAC is 95% complete. Flooring and plumbing fixtures to be installed this week. True Value team to come in first week of January for stocking and merchandising.
10/23/23 - Completing drywall and starting painting. Electric installed, inspected and turned on. Roof top HVAC units installed. Exterior doors installed. Final grading, floor polishing, sign installation and more coming shortly.
8/23/23 - Steel crew wrapping up, timber frame being clear coated, excavator digging for the downspout drains and starting to grade, framers building second-floor walls, electrician roughing in on the ground floor to prepare for concrete pour next week.
5/17/23 - Installation of structural steel completed. The painter will start on 5/30 and Mid-Atlantic will start the timber frame on 6/19. The electrician will install under the slab electric the 2nd week of July. Concrete slab to be scheduled for 3rd or 4th week of July.
5/9/23 - Structural steel delivered and vertical construction of the building commences.
3/30/23 - Phase 1 of foundation install and rough-in is complete. Steel delivery scheduled for 2nd week of May to begin vertical construction.
3/21/23 - Utility trenching and rough in, building backfill, pad stoning.
3/7/23 - Concrete forms and rebar being installed, pouring concrete footers.
2/22/23 - Excavator arrived and broke ground.
2/15/23 - All permits are secured. Excavator scheduled to break ground in the coming days. They will install the footer / foundation and then there will be an approximate 14-16 week pause prior to the building components being delivered and vertical construction beginning.
