1] Millwork Shop and Lumber Yard Worker (Gilbertsville)


The Millwork Shop and Yard Worker is responsible for the set-up and operation of hand tools and machinery to create/manipulate products as per the production schedule. This employee will also coordinate and perform duties relating to the delivery and pick-up of orders and to the organization of the yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:

• Mill or fabricate doors and frames.
• Safely operate machinery including table saws, miter saws, routers, and nail guns
• Assist delivery driver when needed to load material safely and securely to ensure product is delivered as expected.
• Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any given time
• Produce quality products to meet and exceed customer’s expectations
• Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order
• Understand basic inventory, warehousing and stocking procedures
• Recognize and understand product numbers and alpha/numeric codes
• Pull, fill, pack, set up, and stage orders for delivery or pickup
• Receive shipments, log into inventory, maintain inventory through audits
• Report any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person
• Communicate positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers, and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintain required certification, perform vehicle safety checks in compliance to OSHA requirements, and report discrepancies to supervisor
• Perform duties with accuracy and attention to detail
• Assist in keeping facility clean, neat, safe, secure, and operating efficiently
• Present a neat and professional image
• Seasonal Requirement: Assist with snow removal
• Complete other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent

Language Skills: English

Mathematical Skills:
Perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and proficiency in reading measuring devices)

Physical Demands:

• Lift, carry, reach, push, pull or otherwise maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 100 lbs.)
• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of work hours
• Work overtime as needed and scheduled by management
• Have effective listening, verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment: This position will have employees exposed to elements including heat and cold as well as dust, fumes and noise.
